Over the past fifteen years my real estate and landlord- tenant practice has led to a number of cases involving the presence of dangerous and unhealthy concentrations of mold in residential and commercial structures. I have represented both Plaintiffs (those affected by the mold) and Defendants (landowners of buildings) in court cases. For Plaintiffs my office has obtained judgments/settlements for substantial amounts of damages, including the costs of remediation of mold contamination and in appropriate cases personal injury awards for health treatment and medical costs. For Defendants my office has successfully defended cases resulting in the dismissal of the lawsuits.
Working with
medical professionals and mold testing experts has allowed me to achieve detailed understanding of the science and medicine involved, and the challenges involved in preparing and presenting the evidence has provided the opportunity to become thoroughly familiar with the legal principles needed to overcome vigorous tactics from opposing counsel. Years of governmental practice has also provided background in regulatory issues and testing standards for public health and safety.
